PDO THREAD LIFT
Polydioxanone (PDO) therapy is an effective procedure that tightens and lifts sagging skin. It involves the placement of absorbable sutures under the skin using small needles. PDO threads can be used to lift and tone many areas of the face and takes between 15-45 minutes to preform depending on the area to be treated. The entry point for needle insertion can be anesthetized to make the application more comfortable. The PDO threads dissolve into bands of collagen to help replace the natural structural support of the face that is lost from the aging process and sun damage. Dr. Kalmbacher offers two types of PDO threads: Nova Threads and Silouette Instalift. The barbed and cone threads have a lifting effect and can be used in the cheeks, forehead, jawline and neck area. The smooth or twist threads can be used in a mesh like pattern to improve lip lines and to restore volume in the cheek area. PDO threads can be used alone or in combination with other cosmetic procedures like Botox and Dysport. PDO threads offer a novel way to treat neck and lip lines that are usually not amenable to treatment with fillers. There is an immediate effect with the lifting threads. The rejuvenating effects occur in the following 1-2 months during wigh you will notice improved skin tone and texture.
